"Is Jewish Peoplehood a Myth?"

Dr. Shaul Magid,

in conversation with

Dr. Eric Caplan

Mordecai Kaplan taught that belonging to the Jewish people was a primary value and that "belonging precedes behaving which precedes believing." In recent years, there have been questions about whether Kaplan's theory of Jewish peoplehood still rings true today and whether it speaks to current generations of Jews who have a very different experience in America than generations past. Please join us as we wrestle with and attempt to "reconstruct" Kaplan's ideas for today.
