Caring Committee Facing the Wind Film Screening

Caring Committee Film Screening: Facing the Wind
Thursday, February 13, 7:00 PM
At the SAJ (15 W. 86th Street) – Social Hall

Family caregivers are often the unsung heroes of a family member’s long
journey through illnesses. The challenges faced by family caregivers are often
hidden from view, and many of us are not aware of the reality faced by the 40
million family caregivers in the US alone until the role descends upon us.

The SAJ Caring Committee and congregant Pamela Rosenblum are pleased
to offer a screening of a recent documentary which offers a moving glimpse
into the journey of two caregivers as they navigate their husbands’ illnesses.
Facing the Wind, is a love story about people with Lewy body dementia, the
spouses who care for them, and the community they create for themselves to
find sustenance and support.

This film recently debuted at a private showing at Lincoln Center for the
Lewy Body Dementia Resource Center and at NYC Docs, the largest
documentary film festival in the US.

Following the screening there will be a Q&A with Pamela Rosenblum, who is
on the Advisory Board of the Lewy body Dementia Resource Center and
Deirdre Fishel, the film’s director.
