Service Options

We welcome our whole community whether in-person or online.  

Please read these descriptions of each of the services to determine which one you would like to attend. Members will be able to register for two in-person services on a first come, first served basis
Non-Members and guests are invited to join us for the Contemplative Service and/or online. 
Please note that this form indicates available seats for each in-person service.  All online services have no capacity limits.

 

Sanctuary Services
Led by Rabbi Lauren Grabelle Herrmann and Cantor Lisa Arbisser
Inspiring, musical High Holiday Services with a blend of traditional liturgy, contemporary music and poetry, moments of meditation, and congregant participation
Rosh HaShanah Day 2 Service including Hiddur Band with Naomi Less, Glenn Grossman, Shy Kedmi and David Meer

Family Services and programs 
designed for Babies - 3rd grade and their grown-ups

Led by Debra Fricano, Director of Education and Family Engagement
Services for Families and Community Building Programs for Children

Teen Program
Teens who are vaccinated (8th-12th grade) should come to in-person services on Erev Rosh HaShanah and Kol Nidre, in the Social Hall. These experiential services will be led by Debra Fricano, Director of Education and Family Engagement and will involve teen  participation.

Contemplative Service
Led by Rabbi Emeritus Michael Strassfeld
located at  St Michael's Church, 225 W 99th St, New York, NY 10025

The Sanctuary Service will be projected in the Social Hall for families to watch after their in-person service.

Babies - 3rd grade and their grown-up/s:
In person Services: Rosh Hashanah Day 1, Tuesday, September  7 
Led by Debra Fricano, Director of Education and Family Engagement
The same in-person service held in a tent on the SAJ roof is offered two different times:

10:00 - 11:00AM Session 1
11:30AM - 12:30PM Session 2

Online Only Program: Yom Kippur, Thursday, September 16 

9:00 - 10:00AM Pela Program
11:30AM - 12:30PM Youth Program


Children 4th - 7th grade and their grown-up/s:
Online Only Program: Rosh Hashanah Day 1, Tuesday, September  7
