Calm Down at WES: Yedid Nefesh ("Companion of the Soul") Kabbalat Shabbat Meditation Service
Rabbi Marc Margolius leads Yedid Nefesh ("Companion of the Soul"), a contemplative service for Shabbat evening consisting largely of guided silent meditation, interspersed with chanting and a short teaching. No prior meditation experience is necessary. Light oneg follows.
Saturday, January 28 at SAJ -15 West 86th Street, 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Hiddur Shabbat. Naomi Less and her band (Glenn Grossman on percussion, Shy Kedmi on keyboards and David Meer on double bass) join Rabbi Lauren and Cantor Lisa. A theme is woven into the music throughout the service. At 11:15AM, there is a Family Service for grades 3 and younger. At noon, the school children and teachers join the congregation for a Community Shir in the sanctuary.
