3:00 PM - 5:00 PMJCC Harlem

The SAJ, JCC Harlem and HIAS present: "My father was a wandering Aramean: a Refugee and Immigrant Justice Seder Experience" During the Passover seder, we recite words from the Torah, "My father was a wandering Aramean," inviting us to remember our immigrant and refugee roots as a people. This year, the state of the world gives these words deeper meaning and added significance. Join us for a sixth night Seder Experience, in which we will explore the themes and rituals of the seder through this lens. This program is designed as an interactive family experience though all are welcome to join. No background in Judaism or Passover necessary! Children's programming provided by PJ Library. Registration required. Who we are: The SAJ is a progressive, participatory Reconstructionist synagogue on the Upper West Side dedicated to joyous Jewish celebration, engagement with torah, and the pursuit of social justice. HIAS works to address the global refugee crisis by helping people rebuild their lives in safety and dignity. JCC Harlem is a hub of Jewish life for Harlem's growing and vibrant Jewish community, as well as the neighborhood at large. PJ Library provides families with free Jewish books and music along with quality family programming and holiday celebrations. There is no cost, but registration is required.  Click here to register.
