Personal invitation from Tehilah & Cordoba House

Before I came to SAJ, I wrote curriculum and consulted for NY's only moderate Muslim religious school. Its director, Naz Georgas, has extended an invite to us to join them celebrating the prophet Muhammad's birthday (peace be upon him) and Chanukah on Dec 10 @ 2:00 pm on W43rd St. All children, teens and parents all invited. They've been practicing "Sivivon" and learning about Chanukah since Rosh HaShana. I am delighted to join them before the Saranga celebration (above).  If you want the address please email me by Dec 7.

Invitation from Tehilah & SAJ's Community Life Committee to thank Makom supporters

Please stop by Tehilah's office to sign the poster of thanks (see below) and Join our SAJ community's appreciative celebration of Mike and Doris Saranga, our Hattan Torah and Kallat Bereshit, on Sunday, December 10th at 5:00 pm.  In tribute to the emphasis placed on Jewish education in their own family, the Saranga children marked their parents' 50th wedding anniversary by establishing the Doris and Mike Saranga Scholarship Fund. This fund has enabled countless Makom families to participate in learning, friendships and our community of Judaism. Please sign up to join us in expressing gratitude for lovingly shaping SAJ!

Invitation to join in a season of volunteering and giving

SAJ Pela & Makom K/1 parent, Dana Ostomel, inspired us to think of ways Makom families can get involved in "giving" during the upcoming season that can sometimes focus on "getting." If you were wondering where you might look into volunteering with your family this winter, please check out the above Google doc. Contact Tehilah to add information as this is just a start!
